En los movimientos sociales ambientales de las Américas, el cuerpo se ha usado como herramienta política en el espacio público. Gestos tan cotidianos como pescar, bañarse en el río o cultivar el huerto se han politizado a consecuencia del ecocidio, la incertidumbre y el desplazamiento territorial que megaproyectos minero-energéticos ocasionan. A estos gestos cotidianos intrínsecos a la geografía y al contexto socio-ambiental de un territorio, sumados a un creciente número de actos extraordinarios de resistencia y desobediencia civil, los denominamos geocoreografias.

In the environmental social movements of the Americas, the body has been used as a political tool in the public space. Such daily gestures as fishing, bathing in the river or cultivating the garden have been politicized as a result of the ecocide, the uncertainty and the territorial displacement that mining-energy megaprojects cause. To these daily gestures intrinsic to the geography and socio-environmental context of a territory, together with an increasing number of extraordinary acts of resistance and civil disobedience, we call them geocoreographies.
