Miguel Rojas Sotelo

Miguel Rojas Sotelo es curador, artista, documentalista y activista mediático. Es PhD en historia del arte contemporáneo y teoría crítica cultural de la Universidad de Pittsburgh (2007-08). Ha trabajado como director de Artes Visuales del Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia (1997-2001), docente en la Universidad del Rosario, Escuela Superior de Estudios Audiovisuales y la Universidad de Pittsburgh. Como curador independiente y gestor cultural ha organizado un gran número de exposiciones de arte contemporáneo, eventos académicos, ciclos de cine y documental y eventos mediáticos, así mismo ha trabajado en el planeamiento, desarrollo y aplicación de políticas culturales para el sector artístico en su país.

Miguel Rojas Sotelo ostenta título de Maestro en Artes Visuales de la universidad de los Andes (Bogotá), especialización en administración cultural de la universidad del Rosario (Bogotá) y maestría en arte moderno y contemporáneo de la Universidad de Pittsburgh (USA) con certificaciones doctorales en estudios culturales y estudios Latinoamericanos de la misma universidad.

Como investigador ha trabajado en la escritura y re-escritura de la historia del arte moderno y contemporáneo en Colombia. Ha publicado ensayos en revistas, libros, catálogos de exhibición y foros de discusión sobre diferentes aspectos de la historia y teoría cultural de América Latina. Rojas Sotelo dirige un ciclo de cine de ficción y documental y es co-productor y presentador de un programa cultural (en radio y en la web).
