This project aims to raise awareness about the importance of persistence in achieving goals, and to address the feelings of failure and unease in the current global context, where the promises of progress, understood as an ideal of economic and social growth, have vanished into a sea of dissatisfaction that can be categorized by generation. I'm referring to the efforts to accumulate successes in the most traditional way, and then evaluate them with those close to our professional and personal communities. However, what we often find are accounts of the impossibility of harmonizing our intellectual, economic, emotional, and leisure lives, as self-exploitation and the pursuit of alluring promises have led us to encounter people paralyzed by their own ideal of success and progress. That is why many call persistence every achievement attained through effort, but when we encounter failures, just as many call it stubbornness. Therefore, many of us have accumulated a series of unfinished projects, half-done projects, or projects that we can later point to as having nourished others, demonstrating a learning process based on frustrated experiences. This brings to mind the myth of Sisyphus, who pushes a boulder every day, only to wake up and find it in the same place where he started the day before, simply for trying to cheat death; as many of us have tried to do, believing that by changing the rules of the game on the chessboard of success, we have condemned ourselves to constant chance. Therefore, we must abandon traditional and linear idealizations of progress and embrace a more rhizomatic and random understanding. |
