PerfoARtNet

PerfoArtNet is an independent group of artists/researchers and cultural managers that for 19 years has stimulated encounters, the flow of knowledge, creation, and the search for new spaces for dissemination, exhibition, outreach, confrontation, and feedback around the relationships between body, individual, and society. We use body art as an element of transformation, healing, and understanding of ourselves and society.

Since 2007 we have been convening the community, artists, critics, researchers, managers, historians, environmentalists, anthropologists, sociologists, human rights defenders, at the national and international level, to generate spaces for meeting and reflection on the body and its relationships with the context.

We are a nomadic, virtual and physical space that allows creators, theorists and the community to share their thoughts and actions; as well as a pedagogical complement for students, teachers and other people who want to investigate performance, body art, action art or body art, art and context and artivism.

Being nomadic has allowed us to learn about and strengthen other spaces, processes, practices and agents, making proposals that involve social and community organizations, women's groups, youth, social leaders, farmers, indigenous people, Afro-descendants, Roma, the LGBTIQ+ community, local residents, colleagues and friends.

During these 18 years, PerfoArtnet has promoted:

Bienal Internacional de Performance,

Bienal Colombiana de Performance,

Residencias Artísticas,

Exposiciones Individuales,

Academia/Charlas y Talleres,

The ACADEMY has been a fundamental pillar, enabling interdisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity, and collective learning. It has connected art with the processes of the environment and with the life experiences of diverse individuals who demonstrate through their daily actions that what they do is make life itself a work of art. We have received recognition by applying for grants that have allowed us to produce cultural projects, provide materials to artists, create physical and digital publications, recognize the work of participants with financial support, and offer free talks and workshops with invited guests of diverse ages and backgrounds.

It is inevitable that what happens around us will make us shout or react, often with words and other times with actions that seek to point out and give us a light on the path.

Here, bodies are the voice of society, interlocutors for communities, mediators of a society silenced by oppression. They point to what affects us all, overwhelmed by the current situation, and attempt to spark micro-protests that can raise civic awareness and foster social commitment.

Ephemeral actions in public spaces aimed at strengthening empowerment, trust, respect, solidarity, collective work and common well-being.

These are proposals that are conscious of the past and present, that desire a different future, a different way of living together, and therefore choose to speak of life, from life, and for life. Speaking from the depths of one's being and from personal experiences in the midst of a society that seeks to homogenize individuals and relationships is an act of resistance to biopower, or the control over bodies.
